New Discoveries
Kaden took his first steps yesterday!! The first time he did it, was to get a spoon he was playing with. The next time was to get ice cream :) He's growing up so fast, I can't believe his first birthday is in less than 2 months!

Justin: He's trying to call his dogs.
(Insert cheesy noise here.)
Oh the things you come up with when its really late.

Crazy!!
This week has been a really crazy week. Justin has had (going on) 5 tests, goes to bed and wakes up at crazy times because he is studying so much, especially this week. And even though Kaden and I don't go many places, we have found that you don't need to leave to stay busy. And its only Wednesday.
Regardless of the things we have going on, its all worth it. We are grateful for our callings, that we get to be in Young Men/Women together, and for Justin being in school and being diligent in his schoolwork and for the things he is learning. We are grateful for Kaden and that every day he grows and learns new things. I'm so very blessed to be able to stay at home with him and enjoy his childhood.
We have always had people tell us, "Oh your baby is so big." Yes, we know he is big. But we haven't really thought about how big (tall) he is, until just recently. He is in the 90th percentile for height and weight. Kaden stood next to a 2 1/2 year old, and was only about 4 inches shorter than the toddler, anyway you get the picture. He continues to pull himself up on everything he can get his hands on, which is unfortunate because he is so tall. I wasn't expecting to have to deal with this whole pulling-things-off-the-counter thing for at least another 6 months or so. Stuff he can now pull himself up on: the table- including the tablecloth and Mommy's sewing machine; inside the tub, or outside- he's almost fallen out several times; the stove; the oven door; door handles (luckily he hasn't figured out how to open them); the bottom kitchen cupboards and drawers; the trashcan, which he tips over and climbs inside; takes most of the bowls and cups out of the top rack on the dishwasher.
A few of Kaden's mischievous daily do's:
Turns the DVD player/Wii/Cable Box on and off- he really likes the lights
How to pull the DVDs off the shelves and swish them on the floor
Goes underneath- like tunnels, chairs and
How to really play Peek a Boo by jumping or ducking behind things
Starting to put shapes in corresponding spaces of his shape sorter puzzles
He understands labels, mama, dada, ball, doggie etc
How to feed Hiccup
How to yell for Hiccup
How to climb inside the cupboards and pull everything out
How to push, walk and run with his toy car
Repeat about 15 times a day and throw in a nap or two and that is our typical day at home :)
Wish you all could be here to see how he is growing! We love you and miss you all!

Small World
So I know this is kind of random, but I thought it was pretty funny. When I started my Tootsie Tots blog, I started linking my account to blogs I like, about family, crafting, photography or just inspirational ones in general.
Tonight I was looking at some that I hadn't visited in a long time, and came across one sparked my interest. As I kept reading on this lady's blog, I realized that it referenced Winterville, which is a town neighboring Greenville, where we live. I didnt think that was a big deal because I'm sure there are a lot of "Winterville's" scattered through the US. I read on, and there was a reference to PCMH-Pitt County Memorial Hospital- the hospital in Greenville. I mentioned to Justin that I thought that was a funny coincidence that I had followed it for so long but didn't know that this lady lived in Greenville, and that it was funny that she lived in the same town we moved to just 6 months ago.
Dont worry it gets wierder.
I clicked on another link on her website to a photographer's website. I liked her work so I went on Facebook to "like" her page. When I searched for this photographer, her name and address came up for her business. (This is the wierd part) She lives down the street from me! Crazy! So it just goes to show you that you how small this world (or the web world) really is!
